Eco printing… Botanical dyeing…

My love of the Australian bush sparked the interest in Eco printing, botanical dying. Our beautiful eucalyptus leaves contain tannin enabling them to transfer the colour.

Protein fibres , raw silk, habotai silk and wool are my favourites to work with. The natural dye extracts Logwood, Cochineal and Lac yield the beautiful rich colours I love.

I’ve experimented, read and learned lots over the years I’ve been creating. I’m very aware of being respectful of the environment, consequently I do not use harmful chemicals.
