Projects

Jane Whiting

As an artist residing in the coastal town of Batehaven Australia, my work explores the intricate interplay between environment, object, and human presence.

Through the medium of oil painting, I seek to encapsulate the delicate details that often go unnoticed in everyday – the quiet elegance of an empty ornate chair set against a vast landscape or the intimate vibrance of a families’ shared moments at the beach

My artistic practice is deeply rooted in a fascination with the stories that spaces and objects silently convey, whether it is the subtle intricacies of a tablescape or the nuanced interplay of light within an interior.

Through my work, I aspire to create a dialogue between the viewer and the canvas encouraging an exploration of the emotions and memories that these scenes evoke.
