Suzanne Carter

Suzanne Carter is an artist based on the South Coast of NSW.

After retiring from the NSW Police Force, Suzanne returned to creativity as a way to slow down, reconnect, and find meaning through making. Her work explores themes of connection, resilience, belonging, and the unseen threads that link people, places, and experiences.

Working primarily with acrylic paint and sculptural textile forms, Suzanne creates contemporary works that balance bold colour with thoughtful storytelling. Her distinctive Woven Collection incorporates reclaimed textiles stretched across painted surfaces to create dimensional works that speak to relationships, community, and human connection.

Inspired by nature and lived experience, Suzanne’s work invites viewers to pause, reflect, and notice what often goes unseen.

Her work has received recognition through awards at the Eurobodalla Agricultural Show and the Royal Canberra Show and has been exhibited throughout regional NSW.

“I create to connect – in colour, in words, in truth.”

Many of Suzanne’s works are available for private viewing at her Tomakin studio on the NSW South Coast. Visitors are welcome by appointment to experience the artwork in person and learn more about the stories behind each collection. Appointments can be arranged by calling 0404 856 500.
