I know it’s customary in a biography to explain carefully how one arrives at this point, but in my case I mostly credit remarkable good luck rather than long-term plans.
I left Canada over fifty years ago on something between an adventure and a whim, and promptly fell in love with Australia. The early 1970s were a brilliant time to land here, and it felt completely natural just to keep enjoying it and staying on.
When life finally allowed the time to put something on canvas, I jumped at the chance. More than thirty years later, I’m still on that artistic voyage. The journey has been surprising, energising, and constantly challenging – and it still holds my interest.
In the end, I prefer to let the paintings speak for themselves.
